 The main character in the books of Gerard de Villiers (Gérard Adam de Villiers 08-12-1929, pictured on the right) is Malko Linge. He is an Austrian prince and lives in a castle near Liezen, Austria, near the Hungarian border. The castle is old and needs a lot of maintenance wich is very expensive.
To get that kind of money Malko does a lot of dangerous work for the CIA. He's not an official CIA agent, he just works part-time...
When nobody else is capable of dealing with the situation or the CIA wants somebody who can not be connected to the CIA they ask Malko. Most of the time the crises Malko deals with are realy in the newspapers! Like the arrest of Öcealan or the bombing of the North Korean airplane...you never thought of it but Malko was involved!
I know these books are not known as being literature, but I do really enjoy them. They are just for fun! It's funny to see the stories linked with reality.
